Biography

Rebecca Seiferle’s third poetry collection, Bitters, was just published by Copper Canyon. Her translation of Vallejo’s The Black Heralds is forthcoming from Copper Canyon. Her 1992 translation of Trilce was a PenWest Translation Award Finalist. She is the editor of The Drunken Boat, http://www.thedrunkenboat.com

César Vallejo is considered to be one of the great Spanish poets of the 20th century. He was born in Peru in 1892 and died in Paris in 1938. "Lluvia" and "Unidad" are from his first book, Los heraldos negros, The Black Heralds, published in 1918.
