Orphan Sponsorship for Armenia

A Far-reaching Empowerment Program that Benefits Disenfranchised Women and Their Children

As Armenia strives to overcome its economic woes, the near absence of social-welfare programs means that single-mother households are the most vulnerable segment of the population. Orphan Sponsorship Program for Armenia, a vital initiative that is administrated by the Armenian Prelacy in New York City, matches concerned American sponsors with young orphans in Armenia.

Each sponsorship costs only $180 for a year and covers an orphan's tuition, textbooks, and related expenses. Sponsors are provided with the names and photos of their "adopted" orphans, who occasionally write letters to their sponsors.

Contact Sona Hamalian, Director of Development at the Armenian Prelacy, at (212) 689-7810 for more information or to enroll in the program. Or write to Sona at Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America, 138 East 39th
Street, New York, NY 10016.
